REAL SNOW!
With the paucity of snow in New York City the past couple of years, I’ve been looking back at some of my snowy photographs. Yes, that’s my daughter Jennifer. As she, my wife Barbara, and I were walking around the neighborhood during a “fairytale” gentle snow fall several years ago. I asked Jen to look at me and I captured this shot. I did take others, but this is the one that I feel captured something. The bright snow covered background, the falling flakes, that red plaid hood with the dark trim encircling that happy face. Well, you be the judge. And to help maintain some objectivity, I did take this to an art critic workshop, conducted by the late, important artist, Dorothy Koppelman, she and others in the workshop deemed it a rather successful portrait based on color, composition and capturing the feeling of the subject. It is a photo (and daughter) that I am proud of.
Thanks for taking a look back with me.
